PSL is Chiefs' 'priority'
Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic admits that the Premier Soccer League is his priority this season ahead of their MTN8 quarter-final clash with Bidvest Wits at FNB Stadium on Sunday.The Serbian-born coach, who is in his third term with Amakhosi, has led his side to two third place finishes; only missing out on the title behind Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town by one point in the previously completed campaign.
Vermezovic, who has also never won the MTN8, says his side is ready for the challenge of Wits - and despite losing the talents of Valery Nahayo and Knowledge Musona, is confident his new signings more than make up for the loss.
He told the club's official website: "I am completely satisfied with the preseason and we raring to go on Sunday.
"It should be an entertaining game as both sides always want to play.
"I feel that with the players we have brought in like Brent Lawler, Tefu Mashamaite, Major (Lehlohonolo Majoro) and others we have a competitive team to challenge strongly for honours this season.
