West Milford resident raises concerns about water well testing
Wooley Road Resident Richard Randazzo - concerned that Braemar Homes/Green Valley Estates is not abiding by rules of the Township of West Milford water well ordinance - brought those concerns to the West Milford Planning Board (WMPB) on June 23.
"We need a liaison from the planning board to the residents so we can keep someone appraised of what we are experiencing and to address the breach of the ordinance," said Randazzo. "This is important for the entire township as much as it is for the residents of Wooley Road. "
Randazzo also asked for a WMPB report on current status of the water allocation permit obtained by the builder earlier. He reported having heard that the exemption had been lost. Board Attorney Thomas Germinario said he had written a letter to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for information regarding status of the exemption and is still waiting for a reply.
"Approximately two months ago Braemar installed a monitoring device in my well," Randazzo told the board. "Due to rain we had they were not able to pump and test the wells as outlined in the ordinance. However, once the weather did allow for the test to start, nothing was done."
