As a potential solution to my ongoing hair-rage, my husband suggested I go Halle Berry. I’d worn my hair boy-short through much of college in what can only be described as the “fluffy helmet” style, so I had doubts that short hair could work on me. But eventually I conceded that the dandelion ‘do had been the result of my Cost Cutters-only budget and woeful ignorance of styling products. In the present day, I have a decent beauty budget, a stylist who I consider to be the Dumbledore of curly hair, and an arsenal of products that is threatening to overtake our tiny bathroom. In the present day, I am fully equipped to get, style, and maintain a kick-ass short hairstyle.

So about two weeks ago, I chopped my chin-length hair into a delightfully messy pixie cut. I did it over my lunch break, and without telling my husband. In retrospect, I realize that I was NOT attempting to create a fun, delightful atmosphere of surprise around the change. I was apprehensive about how he’d react. Because hindsight is 20/20 and sometime between suggestion and salon visit, the hubs had reneged his Halle Berry idea and expressed some fears that I’d go all fluffy helmet on him.

I used to think I was cursed with the bad genes thanks to my massive curls and short stature . For years I’ve considered being petite and having those cursed curls to be the worst things that can happen to anyone. I was naive and utterly stupid for thinking that my curls and height made any difference to the quality of my life. I used to think that what I had would be completely unaccepted by society. I came to that conclusion because I had bad experience with my peers who referred to me as “midget,” “mophead,” or even “short girl with the exploding hair.” (Kids are so cruel!) Two days ago, I decided it was time that I do something about the frizzy curls. I had enough with my frizzy mophead and I wanted to achieve luscious locks that shine and bounce....

Does anyone know some good hair products for fine curly hair?

I have tried many things; curly products weigh my hair down or leave it greasy looking, but volumizing products leave it frizzy. Air drying doesn't really work either; it's too flat.

Frizz-Ease makes a spray for curly hair, it works really well on my hair. I have very fine hair and recently had a perm. Products usually weigh my hair down or leave it greasy, but this stuff works!

Do you have a diffuser for your hair dryier? If not, get one. Then spray this stuff on damp hair and dry with dryer on lowest setting while scrunching.
