NJ Racetracks Return to Action this Labor Day Weekend with Banners, and ...
The three stock car tracks in New Jersey, much like everyone else in the Garden State, fell victim to Hurricane Irene last weekend. However, they all weathered the storm well, and have plenty of action scheduled for this Labor Day weekend.
New Egypt Speedway actually got back to racing on Tuesday night as they presented their "Jersey Rush" event featuring the 410 Sprints, and the Big-Block Modifieds. While there won't be any Sprint Cars racing this Saturday, the dirt track, not located far from Great Adventure, will certainly be busy. Their "Back to School" night will feature the Big-Block Modifieds, Crate-1 Sportsman, Late Models, and Vintage Cars. One has to wonder here if "Back to School" refers to the children's impending return to school or the "schooling" driver Billy Pauch, has been giving most of his fellow Big-Block competitors, all year.
Bridgeport Speedway has been the track most affected by the weather in New Jersey, even before the arrival of Irene, having lost more race weekends than both New Egypt, and Wall Stadium. They will try to make up for it this Labor Day weekend as they present their own "Back to School" night. The South Jersey 5/8 mile dirt track will have the Bridgeport Modifieds in action, along with the Outlaw Stocks, and 358 Sportsman.
