The first couple of weeks of school have started for many and notes have already come home to several public and private schools in the area regarding students having head lice.

Rick Williams of Ladue Pharmacy explained: “we have definitely been selling more products to treat lice recently.” Ladue Pharmacy not only carries the traditional methods of Lice treatment including: RID , Nix, but also a less toxic brand known to many as “ Fairy Tales .” When asked, Williams recommended: “not treating those that were not already infected as it is not needed until you see signs of nits or active lice.”

Ann Body, Lead Nurse for the Ladue School District , said: “the key to effectively using the anti-lice treatments are to follow the directions exactly the way they are stated on the box.” The important part is making sure that you allow enough time for the shampoo to kill all live nits and lice. which shampoo should i use?

I have natural and have very kinky, curly hair as well. I am so familiar with this problem.Before I give you any advice about products and such I have to tell you that it takes a while for the hair to be trained and once your hair is trained then it really doesn't matter what kind of products you use. In my opinion shampoo and conditioner is not such a big deal. I use Tresemme shampoo and conditoner,it is the best. I always use a leave in conditioner, as well as a heat protector spray by Tresemme. Also, rinse with tepid water, actually as cool as you can take it, it makes the hair shine. After that I use the leave in conditioner and the heat protector spray. I try to let my hair air dry as much as possible to illiminate the amount of heat. So, then I blow dry! This is when the Super Skinny...

Why is it recommended not to use anti-dandruff shampoo 2 weeks before a relaxer and 2 weeks after?

I am having a relaxer tomorrow and last week (exactly 7 days ago) I used some Dudley's Scalp and Skin Antiseptic pre shampoo (basically massaging into hair scalp and letting sit for about 30 minutes to remove bacteria on the scalp) and washed one time with Nizoral (OTC version) Anti Dandruff Shampoo and finished up 2 more times with "regular" moisturizing shampoo.

Because those shampoos are extremely alkaline. Relaxers mostly have a higher acid ph balance. They'll kind of undo what the relaxers have done to your hair. Baby shampoos are very alkaline also.

I've used Head and Shoulders to relax a too-tight perm..
